This project explores the relationship between natural and man‑made spaces and how they work together to shape the cities we live in. As part of a university module, I focused on urban surfaces, examining how textures, materials, and structures combine to define our surroundings. Through this project, I wanted to highlight how cities and society itself depend on the balance between natural and man‑made elements working in harmony.

This book documents my move from my family home in Liverpool to Manchester and captures the reality of day‑to‑day student life. As someone who grew up with Asperger’s, change has always been a significant challenge, so creating this work allowed me to focus on the positives of moving out and recognise how far I’ve come.

Hi! My name is Grace Wiseman and I’m a freelance photographer and editor from Liverpool, based in Manchester. I’m currently studying photography at Manchester Metropolitan University and am keen to work in many areas of photography, including sport, fashion, retail, commercial and more. My passion is portraiture and capturing moments that might otherwise be missed.
